Flash Back Caddis
Materials:
Hook: #12 caddis
Weight: lead wire and orange tungsten bead
Body: mixture of olive rabbit and brown flash dubbing
Back: Mylar pearlescent flash
Thorax: black Dubbing of choice
This fly is very heavy and I use it mostly for French nymphing. It works well for yellowfish and trout.
Pellet fly
Materials:
Hook: #10 caddis or glo bug
Head: Tungsten bead (orange is a good option)
Thread: 6/0 brown or black
Body: Deer hair.
This fly can be an absolute killer when fishing ponds where the trout are fed on pellets. Fish it static under a strike indicator.
Soft Hackle Bunny (SHB)
Materials:
Thread: 6/0 White
Hook: #12 grip damsel
Hackle: grizzly soft hackle
Head: 3/0 flourescent pink thread
Body: olive CDC (dubbing loop)
Tail: Dark olive Zonker over olive zonker
Dikkop Caddis
Materials:
Thread: 6/0 any colour
Hook: 12-16 dry fly
Hackle: brown dry fly
Wings: dikkop saddle
Body: super fine dry fly (tan)
Chernobyl Beetle
Materials:
Hook: #14 nymph
Thread: 6/0 any colour
Body and head: bright red dubbing
Legs: brown hackle
Back: Rust brown foam
